Perkins Prairie offers luxury living in a charming setting

Sales have begun on the fourth phase of construction at Perkins Prairie, a community of 168 single-family homes in the town of Buckley, just west of Bonney Lake and south of historic Enumclaw.

The latest stage of construction will include 44 new homes ranging in size from 1,872 to 3,226 square feet, with prices ranging from the low $600,000s to the low $700,000s. Six different floor plans are available offering three, four or five bedrooms.

The homes are roomy and spacious, with open floor plans and an abundant number of windows, covered outdoor living spaces, air conditioning, and two- or three-car garages.

“We are excited to be back in this bustling community where the pride of ownership is clear and neighbors enjoy backyard barbecues and holiday gatherings,” said Michael Lorenz, president of Conner Homes. “This new phase of homes offers the perfect addition to one of the best communities in the South Sound.”

Sleek interiors distinguish every home in Perkins Prairie, with durable luxury vinyl plank flooring on the entire first floor, a modern linear fireplace, and the latest in colors and surfaces.

Designer Kitchen with Stainless Appliances

Kitchens feature shaker square cabinets with contemporary handles and soft-close doors and drawers, under-cabinet lighting, quartz counters with full-height tile backsplash, large single-bowl stainless steel sinks and LG stainless steel appliances, including a gas range.

“I love hand-selecting the interiors and finishes for each and every home at Perkins Prairie,” said Alyssa Burkholder, interior designer at CR Floors. “We offer some of the best new product lines, which allows me to choose from a large array of products, making each home uniquely different.”

The main baths are thoughtfully detailed, with designer tile counters and tub decks with decorative accents, and grand-sized vanities with dual sinks. Some plans include large soaking tubs and dramatic raised ceilings in the main bedroom.

The attention to detail continues outside the homes, with durable IKO Cambridge fiberglass asphalt roofing shingles, low-maintenance fiber cement siding with painted shingle accents, artistically inspired architectural styles and exterior color schemes, designer two-panel front entry doors, and professionally landscaped side and front yards.

Eco-friendly “Earth Sense” touches include energy efficient heat pumps with air conditioning and supplemental gas furnaces, energy-conserving electric heat pump water heaters, 2-by-6-inch exterior wall construction and Honeywell thermostats. Drivers of electric cars can opt to have their garage prewired for a charging station.

Open Concept Floorplans

Perkins Prairie offers easy access to parks and trails in the community. Residents can explore nearby Lake Tapps and Flaming Geyser State Park, or swim at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center, located just minutes away. Winter sports lovers can enjoy Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, and Mount Rainier National Park is about an hour away.

“Buckley has become a new favorite place to call home — especially with so many ‘work from home’ folks,” said Tracey O’Brien, sales representative for Conner Homes. “It’s a hometown-feel community that sits at the foot of Mount Rainier, but just a few miles from all the conveniences like shopping and restaurants.”

The neighborhood includes a private park with picnic area and gazebo. The community is part of White River School District, which includes Elk Ridge Elementary School, Glacier Middle School and White River High School.

Buckley (population about 5,000) is a small 19th-century Pierce County logging town that still retains its rustic charm and colorful history. Many of the brick buildings on Main Street were erected after an 1892 fire that nearly wiped out the business district.

Buckley is also home of the Buckley Log Show, a two-day logging competition that brings people from near and far to see who will win the “All-Around Logger” award.

Perkins Prairie is located at 314 S. Spruce St., Buckley. Prices from the low $600,000s to the low $700,000s. Information at 888-302-1252 or connerhomes.com.
